DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

Physics is one of the primary and potential subjects at the post-graduate level. Physics with specializations like Electronics, Condensed matter Physics, spectroscopy, Thin-Film Technology, Opto – electronics, photonics, Lasers and Holography Biophysics and Nano-materials etc., has high job potential not only in the area of teaching, at both undergraduate and post-graduate streams, but also in National and Central laboratories like Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Bombay, Centre for Advanced Technology (CAT) Indore, Physical Research Laboratories (PRL) Ahmedabad, ISRO laboratories in different parts of the country, National Physical Laboratories (NPL) New Delhi, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
In the above said institutions and organizations, expensive and sophisticated state of art technology equipment, are handled with utmost care for various investigation. For executing the job work, knowledge of the basic principles and concepts of Physics is necessary and essential.
Industries require Physics Personnel with an electronics background to test and maintain their R & D work. This also helps them to design and fabricate advanced products required in the market. Therefore, the Science and Technology organizations look up to the universities for their requirements. The University offers a Masters course in Physics with electronics as the specialization.
